What are the reasons for replacing the old manhole?

The reasons are several, and serious.

  • It is a matter of safety if the old manhole is not well fastened, it has rusted, it has rotted, and we risk cutting ourselves or falling through the opening that lies underneath, or it protrudes from the rest of the flooring and we risk tripping over.
  • The next reason is a matter of aesthetics. It is not visually appealing when in the area where we live there is a part which does not match the surrounding space. Therefore we should install a manhole which is in harmony with our surroundings and produces an aesthetically pleasing effect.
  • If the manhole needs to be opened by anyone who needs to check something (to clean, to go below, to turn a valve, to do technical work, to remove hidden money), then we should consider the option of trapdoor openers (hydraulic, gas door shocks, etc), which help us to open the manhole comfortably, easily, and at any time, without giving it a second thought.

Why should I install your company 's manhole?

Some reasons are the following:

  • It is a GREEK PATENT manufactured in our country, therefore technical support is available at any time, just as is a contact phone number for over-the-phone advice.
  • They are water-tight so as not to destroy an area because water passes through, or something electrical burns, or something wooden rots. They prevent the sound that might come from underneath from bothering us. They don't allow unpleasant odors to make our area repulsive.
  • Our manholes are coated (with marble, wood, tiles, stone, cement & mortar, etc.) making them identical with the surrounding space, without needing to find compromising solutions so the specific area won't look unsightly.

How do I choose the quality?

The qualities we can supply are the following:

  • Stainless Steel 316.
  • Galvanized, painted with electrostatic paint, whose movable parts are stainless steel.
  • Aluminiums which if you wish, for greater protection we can paint in any RAL that suits you.

To choose which quality of manhole we should install so it will have a greater lifespan and be appropriate for our area, we need to pay attention to the following points:

  • Whether the area we need to cover has damp.
  • Whether there is potable water.
  • Whether there is sewage waste.
  • Whether it is dry.
  • Whether it is covered.
  • Whether it is near the sea.
  • Whether it is an area that cars/trucks pass through.
  • Whether we want it to be safe.

What are the appropriate dimensions?

Depending on what we have to cover, we install the relevant manhole. The factors that should be considered are the following:

  • Will a person need to go down below?
  • Is it used only to check the underground area?
  • s it used simply to turn a valve?
  • Do we wish to take down objects, machinery, household effects?

Pool engine lid

Our pool also has some area which houses the pool engine.

This area is usually underground.

The engine room should be visited at least twice a week to check the filter, the water quality etc. Therefore we will need to move the manhole lid that covers it. This manhole should be between 80cm to 100 cm, in order to be able to install, or if necessary to remove the filter. If we also take into consideration its coating with material of the surrounding area, it becomes clear that its weight will be too heavy to lift even by 2 men.

For this reason we have fitted the manholes with trap door openers (hydraulic, gas door shocks etc), which make access to the engine area easy. However, since in the area of the engine there is machinery (pumps, filters etc.) which cost a significant amount of money, we should protect them from rainwater as well.

For this reason we have manufactured our manholes in such a way that makes them both water-tight and provides them with such safeguards as to ensure there is no way we might suffer damage from the influx of water in this area.
